Fabrics That Create This Look
For my version, I paired pink sparkly fabric for the bodice with 3D floral mesh/tulle fabric for the skirt. The dimensional flowers are what give the skirt its gorgeous volume and make this otherwise simple dress feel much more elaborate. If you cannot find the same fabrics, there are plenty of pretty substitutions to experiment with. Try glitter stretch fabric, sequin fabric, metallic knit or sparkly satin for the bodice. For the skirt, you can substitute embroidered tulle, floral lace, ruffled mesh, organza, layered tulle or another lightweight dimensional fabric. This is also a lovely pattern for using those unusual decorative fabric remnants that may be too small for a full-size sewing project.

What to Have Beside Your Sewing Station
You only need a small collection of sewing essentials to put this miniature dress together. Have your printed PDF pattern, fabric scissors, coordinating thread, hand-sewing needle, pins or sewing clips, fabric marking tool and a small piece of Velcro or another suitable doll-clothing closure ready before you begin. A sewing machine can be used for suitable sections, although some areas may be easier to control with hand stitching because of the tiny scale and bulky 3D flowers. Fine, sharp scissors are particularly helpful for carefully cutting around dimensional fabric without accidentally trimming away the decorative details.
