Crochet Pumpkin Stitch Fashion Doll Blouse – Free PDF Pattern & Tutorial

A Little Pumpkin Patch in Doll Fashion

Tiny golden-orange pumpkins wrapped in leafy green crochet stitches give this fashion doll blouse such a playful autumn look. The raised pumpkin stitch is the star of the design, creating rows of wonderfully chunky texture across the bodice while the green stems and connecting stitches give it the appearance of miniature pumpkins growing along a vine. I especially love how the open crochet spaces keep the blouse light and delicate despite all that texture. Paired with a simple doll skirt, jeans or shorts, it becomes a charming statement piece for an autumn-inspired doll wardrobe.

Dolls This Crochet Blouse Is Designed to Fit

This pattern is designed for Barbie-size dolls and other fashion dolls measuring approximately 10.5–11.5 inches tall. Because crochet tension, yarn thickness and individual doll body shapes can vary, I recommend trying the blouse on your doll as you work. The lace-up back also gives you a little flexibility when adjusting the final fit around the doll’s bodice.

Yarn, Colours & Hook Size for This Miniature Project

One of the lovely things about crocheting doll clothes is that you only need a small amount of yarn. For this blouse, approximately 10–15 yards of orange yarn and 10–15 yards of green yarn should be plenty, although the exact amount will depend on your crochet tension and yarn thickness. I used golden-orange for the pumpkin sections and leafy green for the stems, borders and connecting stitches, but you can easily experiment with rust, burnt orange, mustard, cream, olive or other autumn shades. A worsted-weight acrylic, cotton or cotton-blend yarn can be used for the project, along with a 2.5 mm crochet hook to help keep the stitches compact enough for fashion-doll proportions.
