Made to Fit Your Fashion Doll Collection
This crochet skirt is designed for fashion dolls approximately 10.5”–11.5” tall. Because dolls within this size range can have slightly different waist and hip measurements, I recommend trying the skirt against your doll as you crochet. The starting chain can easily be adjusted to create a snugger or slightly roomier fit for the particular doll you are dressing.
Follow Along with the Free Pattern & Tutorial
I have created a free PDF crochet pattern and tutorial so you can make this daisy embellished skirt for your own fashion dolls. The tutorial includes a step-by-step guide that takes you through crocheting the skirt, adding the contrasting waistband, finishing the back and embellishing the front with its pretty floral detail. You can access the complete printable pattern by clicking the download link at the bottom of this post.
Yarn, Hook & Colour Details
One of the nicest things about miniature doll crochet projects is how little yarn they require. You will only need approximately 10–15 yards of yarn in total, making this a lovely project for using yarn left over from other creations. I used pink yarn for the main skirt, green for the waistband, white for the daisy petals and a small amount of yellow for the flower centre. Worsted weight acrylic, cotton or a cotton-blend yarn will work well for this pattern, together with a 2.5 mm crochet hook. Since yarn thickness can vary between brands and fibres, you can adjust your starting chain as necessary to get the fit you prefer.
Make It Your Own with Different Colour Combinations
The little daisy detail gives you plenty of room to play with different colour combinations. You could crochet the skirt in lavender with a sage green waistband, use soft pastels for a spring-inspired version or choose bold colours for something more whimsical. The embroidered flower could also be changed to coordinate with other pieces in your doll’s wardrobe, making this simple pattern an easy one to crochet again in several different looks.
