Yarn, Hook & Pretty Pink Details
This miniature project requires only a small amount of yarn—approximately 10–15 yards for the main hat, plus small leftover lengths for the embroidered flowers and leaves. I used light pink for the hat, a deeper rose pink for the flower buds, and green for the leaves, but this design would be lovely in many different floral color combinations. You can use worsted weight acrylic, cotton, or a cotton-blend yarn together with a 2.5 mm crochet hook. Since doll-scale crochet can change considerably depending on yarn thickness and individual tension, check the fit on your doll as you crochet and adjust when necessary.
Finishing It With Rose Bud Embellishments
The rose buds are what make this little hat especially pretty. Once the hat portion is finished, small rose buds can be added around the crown using contrasting pink yarn, with green leaves tucked around each flower. I like the flowers spaced around the hat so that some of the textured pink crochet remains visible between them. You can follow the floral placement shown here or experiment with your own arrangement, adding fewer flowers for a simpler look or creating a fuller miniature rose garden around the crown.
