Crochet Sparkle Flared Fashion Doll Skirt – Free Pattern & Tutorial

Colourful flecks of shimmer woven through a deep, dark yarn give this crochet fashion doll skirt a fun miniature partywear look. The design begins with a simple fitted silhouette around the waist and hips before finishing with a fuller flared hem that adds texture, movement, and a touch of drama. Paired with a simple crop top, blouse, or fitted doll top, the sparkle yarn becomes the statement feature of the outfit.

Fashion Doll Size & Fit

This crochet skirt is designed for fashion dolls approximately 10.5”–11.5” tall. Because doll body shapes can vary slightly between brands and styles, check the fit against your doll as you crochet. The finished skirt should sit comfortably around the waist while maintaining its fitted shape through the upper portion and fuller flare at the bottom.

Yarn, Colour & Hook Details

This tiny skirt requires only a small amount of yarn—approximately 10–15 yards, depending on your tension and the exact size of your doll. I used a dark multicoloured sparkle yarn with jewel-toned flecks of blue, purple, pink, green, and gold, which gives the finished skirt its shimmery appearance. You can recreate the design with worsted weight acrylic, cotton, or a cotton-blend yarn in a sparkle colourway or any colour you prefer. A 2.5 mm crochet hook helps create compact stitches that are nicely proportioned for doll clothing.

Styling Your Sparkle Crochet Skirt

The combination of the fitted upper section and exaggerated flared hem makes this little skirt easy to style as the focal point of a doll outfit. Try it with a solid-coloured crop top to highlight the colourful yarn, or experiment with metallic, pastel, black, or jewel-toned tops for completely different looks. You can also crochet several versions in different yarn colours to create a miniature skirt collection from the same pattern.
